Yesterday I heard some fantastic and typically American news… Barack Obama has made a plea to get his presidential campaign underway by asking that all Americans cast their votes to decide on his official Spotify campaign soundtrack!
On his website www.my.barackobama.com he states… “As we head into rally season, what music gets you fired up? Submit your favorite tracks below, and you could see them on the Obama 2012 Supporter Picks playlist on Spotify.”
So this got me thinking… imagine if this happened in the UK. Could you imagine David Cameron or Boris Johnson making a plea to the British Nation asking for votes to choose their political campaign soundtrack. I can only try to imagine what suggestions they may get and I suspect there would not be too many serious suggestions!!! Here are my votes for the various Party representatives…
David Cameron – Conservative – Common People by Pulp
Ed Miliband – Labour – Wallace and Gromit theme tune
Nick Clegg – Liberal Democrats - Killing in the Name (And now you do what they told ya!!!) by Rage Against the Machine
Boris Johnson – Mayor of London - Bicycle Race by Queen or Captain Pugwash theme tune. There are so many possibilities for Boris!
